What we cover

Filming and photography, from the air and the ground.

Drone filming

A highly skilled team of filming professionals, led by Virgin Atlantic pilot Adrian McDowell, with a combined 40 years of production experience behind the aircraft.

Extensive experience across a variety of productions, from documentaries to comedies like Red Dwarf. Production planning, drone filming, ground cinematography, direction and editing all come as part of the same job.

Drone photography

As well as footage, a range of photography packages. Whether that is stills alongside a full production or a one-off image of your house, there is no job too big or small.

Every aircraft carries a stills camera capable of high-resolution work, from 20 megapixels on the Hurricane up to 24 on the Spitfire.

Questions

FAQs

Where can you fly?

All of the drones can fly worldwide, indoor or outdoor. Filming is subject to permissions, which we arrange for you.

Can you fly in cities?

Yes, in all major cities. Permissions have to be obtained beforehand, and that is dealt with for you, so you can focus on what you would like captured.

How far can you fly?

UK CAA guidelines stipulate a maximum altitude of 400ft vertically and 500 metres horizontally. There is potential to seek temporary revisions on standard restrictions to reach further than this, but it is not recommended for the best footage. How far is safe to travel is always taken into account, as your safety and everyone else's is paramount.

Which drone would be best for my project?

It depends on your budget and the type of production. The most popular is the Spitfire, the Inspire 2 with the Zenmuse X7 camera, because it has the highest quality camera while still offering a very fast and swift flight. If you are unsure, get in touch and we will advise.

Can you fly at events?

Yes, at many events worldwide, though permissions may be required beforehand. That is dealt with entirely for you, so filming runs smoothly on the day.

Can you fly in the rain?

Sadly not. It would be bad for the drones and cameras, and it would mean not capturing the best quality footage for you.

Can you fly in the wind?

Yes. For the best results we recommend only flying in winds under 20 mph.

Can you fly at night?

Yes, as long as there is a run through in daylight and a thorough risk assessment and inspection is carried out.

What insurance is in place?

EU compliant, with 10 million public liability. Depending on the job this can temporarily be increased to 25 million if required.
