The films.
“Here in America” The Orange Tree - rehearsal advert
Filmed across the first ever rehearsal session: b-roll of the room plus vox pop interviews with the cast, woven into a single piece that teases the show through the people making it rather than a plot summary.
The performance itself was then captured in full with multi-camera coverage on broadcast-standard bodies.
“Red Speedo” The Orange Tree - rehearsal advert
The same approach on a very different show - first-rehearsal b-roll and cast interviews cut into a trailer that sells the tone of the production before a single performance has been staged.
Full multi-camera capture of the run followed, giving the venue an on-demand asset once the show closed.
Overview
Attention is currency.
Theatres live or die on whether people hear about the show in time. A good trailer or a behind-the-scenes piece can be the difference between a packed house and empty seats.
Coverage matters just as much. On-demand content is increasingly how an audience finds a show, so we capture full performances with multi-camera broadcast-standard practices, at the highest quality the venue allows.
